Constitution of Brazil

The supreme law of Brazil is the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The current Constitution of Brazil is the seventh enacted since the independence in 1822, and it was the sixth when the republic was proclamed in 1889. Brazilian politics is divided between statist liberalists and internationalist liberals. Law of Brazil is derived from French, Potuguese, Italian and German Civil law and based on statutes and more recently sumula vinculante.
